While some of you may feel thoroughly rejuvenated from the break that was the holidays, it’s absolutely normal to also feel exhausted and unwilling to return to the daily grind. The fact is that we do prep for the holidays a whole month in advance, and it’s all over before you know it, in just a week! We’re also taking into account that 2020 wasn’t the easiest of years, and chances are that you’re also working from home; so, we might just be more susceptible to the holiday blues this time around.

Cut yourself some slack
The thing about productivity slumps and post-holiday blues is that it’s inevitable and going through them is totally okay. The first step is simply to acknowledge that that’s what it is and go easy on yourself. Yep, there are emails to respond to, and that to-do list isn’t as short as you’d like it to be, but it’s alright for you to ease into it all. Remember — just like you, everyone else might just be making as much an effort to bounce back post the break.
Writing down your tasks always helps
Once you’ve acknowledged that you’re going through a productivity slump, organize your thoughts and tasks by jotting them down. This might sound like a conventional idea, but it can work like a charm! Having visibility of everything you’ve got on your plate will help you prioritize your tasks, and manage them better. Be sure to keep in mind that you don’t have to turn into a productivity ninja, and small wins are okay to start off with. You’ve got this and you can take things one day at a time!
Start with something you like doing
If your tasks seem overwhelming, start with the ones that feel less like work, and more like self-care. Perhaps you could start by cleaning your room or clocking in a workout.
